I had this before others and it went away by it self

What upgrade page? Are you referring to Windows *Update* website?

Thanks for the reply.

Let me explain, I use dual screen and one screen freezes with XP now with
Firefox no problem.
The same applies to the Microsoft download page as soon as I have it loaded
it freezes .
I had that before on other computer and I remember that I removed an update
and the problem was solved. can't remember which update it was
Further the same problem with auto update it start and goes without update.
It's new computer loaded with XP on 5/5/08

Does the problem persist if you're using a single monitor?

Did you do a clean install. a Repair Install, or an Upgrade to XP? Is the
machine currently running WinXP SP2? Is Automatic Updates enabled? Have
you ever been able to access Windows Update since you "loaded" XP on 5/5/08?

It's with the main monitor with the controls on it, using single no diff.

I did a clean install and auto updates is enabled but the screen does't
freeze with all sites, with Yahoo no problem, Microsoft updates yes and also
CNBC and many others.
SP2 is loaded and all updates as from 5/5 are installed after that the
problem started.

I did a scan etc with the Life one care safety scanner from MS

Is installed but now after installing SP3 , a refresher in IE7 is not
working any more

You need to use Explorer ( With Show Hidden/System & Unhide
Extensions ) and navigate to \Windows\Downloaded Program Files
set the View to Details and check each ActiveX in the list under the
status field searching for "Damaged". If any are found Right Click &
choose Remove.

If IE7 was installed before you installed WinXP SP3, IE7 cannot be
uninstalled now without first uninstalling SP3. See
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general/msg/f7c614d3535a737f
and http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2008/05/05/ie-and-xpsp3.aspx.

The most likely cause of the freezing was due real-time protections that
were enabled (running) when you installed SP3, Frank. What anti-virus
application or security suite is installed? What anti-spyware applications
(other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Were any of
them running when you installed SP3?

All is working well except the Add-Ons in IE7 are no longer working this
happens after I did the advised reset in IE7-tools-Internet options-advanced

I have compared the list in advanced setting with other computers and
couldn't find any diff.

All security setting are off, like fisting, Kaspersky AV, pop blocker

I have reloaded IE7 and SP3 no diff.

Any help would appreciated
