I have broadband, I use auto updates. Would the blaster patch and others
come with the updates or will these patches have to be downloaded by
themselves? In other words does ms include the emergency updates with auto
updates?

Yes they would have come thru the auto-update.

Look in your Add/Remove it will show there if installed.

The blaster patch came out about 4 weeks ago as 'pre Sp2 hotfix
KB823980' iirc. Check on your 'add / remove programs' list (in control
panel) and it should be there. The only 'emergency' is that half the
world, and their kittens, failed to install it.
