WINDOWS UPDATE

So it tells me I need to update to these 2 packages which come to about 77MB.
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1 (KB929300)
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (KB110806)
Purposefully I have dial-up at home so I won't spend much on the PC so I can
cool my heels. In most instances I have always been able to download the new
patch from a broadband connection, save it to a disc so I can install the
updates to my machine. Now when I attempt to do so with these mammoth updates
there is no such thing.
You have to download some tiny patch, which then drags you to download to
the mammoth patch without giving the option to download the damn thing off
site sort of speak.
Is there such an option forthcoming for these updates???????????

You are not in the correct group for update problems.
..Net is under discussion in the windows.update group which you shoals be
able to find in the web interface discussion group you are using.
You should find a solution there
The second one down is the link you need.
Good luck - .Net is/has been a pain in the backside.

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or
anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot Tea Timer,
AVG Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before
attempting to install the update(s). If you disable the third-party
firewall, make certain that you enable the Windows Firewall!

Framework 3 is supposed to be 53MB or something, that link brings me to the
small patch which then forces me to download that massive fix.
The 2.0 was great thanks! But is there a link for 3.0 for the monster file
53MB?

Let's see what the new Microsoft Update Catalog has:
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx

YUP. The entire package is there. Use IE or Firefox with IETab to access
it, input KB929300 in the Search field, click Search.
You can figure out the rest <w>
