I am about to reinstall xp from scratch and would like to know if there is a
list that shows what prior updates are obsoleted by more recent ones. I have
approximately 150 updates since the release of SP2 (not including IE).

Thanks

Generally, it's easiest to just install XP, drivers as needed, then SP2 if
applicable, then let Windows Update get the list of appropriate updates.
For my systems, that list has about 80 entries.

Just think how much it would help users if Microsoft provided such a
list/tool.
....are you listening Redmond.

When I was slipstreaming I went through all the updates after SP2 at the
windows update site and checked out each one manually. Total PITA.

Once you have installed XP, slipstreamed for SP2 or not, the MS
Update/Windows Update will determine which ones you need.
If any are obsolete/unneeded, they won't be selected for install.
