I installed some updates the other day and now I can't log into my computer.
It will pull up the screen saying to click on name to log in, however, there
are no names to click on. What happened? Is there anyway to fix this
without completely wiping everything off of my computer? This also happened
to me a few months ago and they had to completely wipe everything off and I
still don't have everything recovered. Please help!!!

Hi

You may like to check with the Windows Update News Group - quoting the
specific Update(s) that were last installed.

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsupdate or
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

I didn't write down which updates were installed and I don't
remember.

Who are "they"?
(ie: "... and they had to completely wipe everything off ...")

Could you not restore from your periodic backups?
If you did not keep backups - it might be a good time to look into it.

Can you boot into Safe Mode and use "System Restore" to go back to before
you installed the updates?
If so - install the updates one at a time to discover which one causes your
issue.

My PC has had major problems ever since I did some WinXP Pro updates a few
weeks ago....and I'm just fed up. Seriously looking into MACs at this
point......each PC I have ever owned always needs to be replaced in 4-5
years, and I'm not doing anything major with my PCs....basic office stuff.

4 to 5 years..
Yes.
Your other computers will be the same way unless you just like feeling slow.
