XP Transfer to Another HD?

Hi,
I am thinking of buying a new computer, and it would
be cheaper if I bought that with a 40 GB, then bought a
100 GB seperately. I am wondering if it is possible to
transfer Windows XP to the other HD on that same machine?
Also, is there a program that allows me to easily just
make an image of my 40 GB and put it on my 100 GB, make
the 100 GB the master, then take out the 40 GB? I am
thinking maybe Partition Magic or Norton Ghost?

Most drive manufactures offer a free transfer program on
their web site.

Norton Ghost would work just fine.
But be aware that sometimes you may get an error that
the windows ntldr is damaged or missing but this is
generally the case when XP is installed on a FAT32
file system. The NTFS file system should be OK.

In windows xp, transfer to another hard drive that has
FAT32 file system, with different parameters (size), will
normally ruin Win Xp Boot Loader and Xp will not start.

This can be done, but the Boot Loader has to be rebuilt
to acomodate the new drive specifications.
