XP Toolbars

Hello. I have a question and I'm hoping someone can help
me find the answer.

A few days ago, I noticed that a search engine had
implanted itself on the toolbar, the same one where the
address bar is located. I've right-clicked on the
toolbar, clicked on "lock toolbars" so I could remove the
item I didn't want, clicked on "search" so that it's no
longer displayed, clicked again on "lock toolbars" and it
was gone. However, it's not gone for good as every time
I log on or even open up a new browser window, the search
bar is there again. I would like to know how to remove
it permanently as it always reduces the size of the
address bar...and is quite annoying since I have no use
for it. I haven't downloaded anything in quite some time
and I've gone through my files extensively. Can someone
help me figure out how to remove the search toolbar for
good? It's a search toolbar that has nothing to do with
anything as far as I can tell.

Thank you! I did run into a problem though. I
downloaded the file and instead of removing the search
engine, it removed my Norton and Earthlink popup
blocker. Can you tell me how to get these back? Thanks
ever so much!

Problem with that VBS script is that it removed the Earthlink Pop-up blocker
from my internet explorer. Is there a way to get it back?
