XP to ME Networking

I wonder if any one can help.
I have one computer running windows XP and one computer
running windows ME. Both of them have the same network
card in and I have linked them both up with a crossover
cable.

I can get them to see each other but thats all.

I have followed everything in the network wizzard and let
the computers do everything them selves. They both
restart but thats it. When the have both started up, I
cant gain access to either computer.

Nothing works.

Am i doing something wrong ??

Please help.
