XP theme changes from Classic to XP...

....after recently gohsting my c:\ xp boot drive onto a SATA hd, sometimes
when I boot up, the theme has changed to the default XP theme with a green
field and darker blue taskbar, and I have to manually change it back to
Classic,
.....otherwise all seems okay.
....do I need to "repair" anything ?

TIA

If you would rather use the Classic theme and be done with the random
wackiness of spin the-the-wheel XP themes, just go to the Services in
the Administrative Tools and disable the "Themes" service. By god it
will ALWAYS be classic (and you'll free up memory to boot). Have fun.

Thanks "Three Chicago Wolf"

I think I'll do as you suggest ! I've always switched to Classic anway -
....simply no other way of finding things !
My OP was slightly wrong, it's jsut the taskbar that switches to "XP theme,"
did some Googling,
.....noticed that it could be caused by lots of things, including malware -
that I'm pretty sure I don't have !

regards, Richard
