XP Static IP addressing

Hi,

I recently changed my network's IP address scheme from a 192.168.xxx.xxx to
a 10.51.xxx.xxx. With the 10.51.xxx.xxx scheme, I assigned each of my
workstations (about 100) with a static IP address. I have one workstation
with XP Pro sp1, that when I assign it a static 10.51.xxx.xxx address I
cannot browse my servers. I can see the servers in my network connections, I
can ping but I cannot browse. I am not having issues with my other
workstations. I tried the "netsh int ip reset" command. It does reset my IP
configurations and allows me to reconnect to my servers and corrects the
issue with my workstation not being able to browse my servers. However, it
only works for a while and then it is not able to browse the servers again.
Also, the workstation cannot browse the servers after a reboot. Please help!

Thank you,
Leo

Leo,

this is a known problem that can have a few different causes.
Please use http://www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm to determine the
probable causes.

The web page refers to Windows XP with Service Pack 2, but
partially applies to SP1 as well. But why not install SP2
anyway?
