XP Start up

Can not log on after start up. Not able to use safe mode or last known
config. Error message on black screen reads: ...did not start successfully.
Recent hardward or software change might have caused this. - I did not
install neither.
 
You may have a hard drive problem.
Go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and get their hard drive
diagnostics.
