XP Spontaneous Reboot after Service Pack 4

Guest

Greetings!

I have XP machines with no sp spontaneously rebooting after a domain logon.
It only happens once. The only thing I changed was I applied SP4 to my
Windows 2000 Server (AD/DNS). My XP SP2 machines have not experiencedx this
phenomenon. Any ideas?

I'm running a spy-sweep and anti-virus scan. Otherwise, does anyone know
what it is about SP 4 that might cause this behavior-- or maybe it's not sp4?

THANKS!

Jason

Service Pack 4 is not to be used.installed onto any XP. Check in the
Windows 2000 newsgroups.

You might notice, if you re-read the OP, that he put SP4 on a Windows 2000
server, not an XP machine.

I'm sorry I don't have anything to help the OP, but I get tired of
responders who don't read the posts.

Buzz,

Relax. This is just Yves. He is constantly handing out bad advice
and dangerous half-truths on these boards. Take what he advises with
a grain of salt (and a big grain, at that).

What you isntalled on your server will have no effect on your XP box.
Whatever is going on is not related to the SP4 upgrade.

I would ask in one of the Windows servers group.
