XP SP3 - can't install office 2007

I recently had to rebuild my machine software-wise when an upgrade to SP3
went very bad. I have reloaded XP pro, did all the upgrades including SP3.
Now I try to install Office 2007 professional and it fails with a error 2350
saying file proof.cab is corrupt. I am reading some posts that say SP3
adversely impacts office 2007 installs and updates. Any truth to that?

That type of error maybe due simply to a scratched or dirty cd...
possibly a problem with your cdrom
