XP SP2 home network - ME laptop cannot access host

M

Mike Russell

XPhome with SP2 setup for home network to toshiba laptop -
can see the laptop and its drives/shares. The laptop can
access internet thro host but when attempting to access
XPhost drives error is "\\XXXX is not accessable no
permission to access resources.....yet have set shares on
the XP host.

Run through all the MS helps including on line

Running current Norton firewall with SP2 firewall off

previously setup OK before SP2 upgrade

Any assist would help.

Uninstall the Norton firewall and see if network connectivity is restored.

"Turned off" is often not good enough with add-on firewalls. Uninstallation
is often necessary.
