XP & SP2 error

I obtained the network version of SP2 via broadband,
twice... Upon installation onmy XP pro system, the file
decompresses and begins the system check. I then
get "there was an internal error". The update then
closes. I turned off my AV software during the upload,.
same result. Any ideas?
