Service Pack 2 has been one giant diaster for me.
After I installed Service Pack 2, any time I right click on a file, windows
explorer would crash with the following error message with various memory
addresses. "Explorer.exe Application Error. The instruction at 0x01e9415b
referenced memory at "0x0000000". The memory could not be "written." Then
explorer loads up again ,and we do the dance all over again. I reinstalled
the original windows xp system files going through a bootable CD-rom and the
recovery process, and things worked fine, just like they did with service
pack 1a and every other update since then. So, I tried with SP2 install
again, and same stupid issues, but this time it decided not to recognize my
USB keyboard and mouse, and it still gave the same error message when trying
to right click any file or icon.
I am displeased. :-<
