XP SP2 and windows update

Hi,

A while ago, windows update notified me that I could download Windows XP
SP2. I chose to download, but then forgot all about it and turned the
computer off in the middle of the download process (after that I turned the
computer on and off several times, before I suddenly remembered that I had
started the SP2 download). As there seems to be no manual download options
for SP2, and my PC does not seem to retry downloading SP2 now - how can I
"force" windows update to install SP2 , or can I even check if it is still
trying (error messages) ?? I'm totally lost here, so any help would be
greatly appreciated

My Windows Update didn't get SP2, so I got the network install version.

Its a big file though... not for dial-up users. Have fun.

you have following options:

a) Download the network install from here

b) Follow the instructions provided here:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/windowsxp/updates.aspx

c) Let Website do it for you:
http://protect.microsoft.com/security/protect/WSA/en/default.asp

To first protect you computer, follow the instructions in option a). Install
the download from option a).
Read through instructions in option b) incase you want to do this yourself
or let the website do it for you from option c)
