XP SP2 and Event ID 7000 and 7009

Hello,

I wonder if anybody can help, I recently started having a problem where a service fails to start during login and generates an eventid 7009 then 7000 (se below). I have checked the program and it is OK, the register key has quotes around it, found an article reporting problems with this.

The PRTG Service - Paessler Router Traffic Grapher service failed to start due to the following error:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

What I'm looking for is a process then goes further then the bootlog option under XP and records all service startup messages or a tip on how to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Ian

Already seen this and it makes no difference, I have also been in contact
with Paessler support and they have not seen this problem.

Can you uninstall the PRGT program and check it? I had that same error
message on a WBHDOCT service.
There was no KB article about it, but eventually, I went to Device Manager,
selected "Show Hidden Devices" from the View menu, and
there was a WBHDOCT driver, so I uninstalled it and the error was no more!
