XP SP1 shut down problems

I am trying to upgrade my Tosiba laptop PC with the SP1 from the Internet. I
am able to get a connection to the Internet and the SP1 software will start
installing on my PC with the Setup Wizard. But, before it can finish my PC
will shut down for no reason at all. Why does my PC just randomly shut down
by itself?
 
Hi,

Download (use "save") it fully, then run setup. It is a very large update
and you should not attempt to run the file directly from the internet.

Why would you install SP-1 when SP-2 is out?
