XP sound support

installed new sound card, audio playback is fine, mic
worked then now doesnt,preformed all tests and
reinstalled drivers still no luck...headset is brand
new..any suggestions out there??ty for any assistance

Verify that it is plugged into the correct soundcard jack.

Check the volume controls, and be sure that the mic channel is not muted,
and that the volume is turned up.
