xp slowed down

My xp has became very slow when I go from program to
program. Once I get to the program, it works pretty much
as it used to. The time from pressing the enter button to
the exicution of a program has lengthened greatly.
Especially at rebooting. I have ran scan disk, defrag,
cleaned out the config., reinstalled xp, deleted cookies,
deleted temperary files and although it helped the
execution of the programs, it still has a lot of time to
get the program and begin compared to before. This
happened quickly and did not build to this state.

First thing I'd do is check what icons you got running in
the background by seeing what's running in the bottom
right-hand corner, if you don't need any of them don't
run them and it should free up resources, also check your
virtual memory in control panel and increase it, or
alternatively download rambooster from download.com for a
free trial run it and it will speed up your pc by freeing
up ram being used by other programs, good luck dude.
