XP Slow Video Performance

S

Steve James

I noticed recently that my video card seems to be performing poorly in
Windows XP all of a sudden.
It's not bad, but its noticeable.

Even www.pcpitstop.com complained about "unusually low video performance" of
only 34 MP/s.

I've had this happen a few times over the years with XP, and this card (AIW
128 Pro) and I could never pinpoint the cause or find a fix.
A driver reinstall hasn't helped either.

Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions?

Someone said I could use the Catalyst drivers with this card, but I could
never get them to install when I tried them in the past, so that didn't help
either.

What drivers are you using? I remember reading in the release notes of
a recent Catalyst build that a slow performance in XP issue had been
resolved.

Catalysts only work on Radeon's :-(
