When I attempt to log into XP it almost instantly logs me
out. I have gone the F8 route and regardless of the boot
selection I make the same problem occurs (and trust me I
tried them all). I do not have an XP disk, I only have a
restore disk that I don't want to use because I have to
many files that will be lost. Can anyone help me, Please.

I only have one user account set up. The problem occurs
in the Admin profile as well.
I have seen two other people posting with a similar
problem which also started today. i am wondering if I
have a new virus of some sort.
I need help Please. Any Ideas?

Try Safe Mode, and, if you can get in, you may want to try a System Restore
(see Help and Support). System Restore, of course, will not get rid of a
virus, if that is what you have.
To get into Safe Mode, press F8 repeatedly while the system is booting up.
You will get a menu with Safe Mode as one option.

When I attempt to sign in through Safe Mode the same
problems occurs. I have tryied every single option on the
F8 menu out of deperstion to try to get this thing to log
in nothing works. Is there a command to go directly to a
DOS Promt? Something it seems is triggering it to log out
as soon as I log in with no time to do anything. I'm
stumped. If I did'nt need the files so bad I would drive
over it and go back to paper. Any additional help would
be appreciated.

You may need to use the Recovery Console. This is somewhat technical, and
you may or may not want to proceed. You need a bootable XP CD. "You'll need
to make sure the boot order in your bios is set to boot from the XP CD to
get into the recovery console(see your motherboard manual). Then after
getting in, you'd have to use the appropriate command. The 3 commands you
can run most likely to help you would be:
Chkdsk
Fixboot
Fix MBR" (courtesy of Chad Harris)
