XP Shutdown too slow

Holla

Hello

I have recently been moved to XP Proffessional to my new PC. I
observed that Xp takes hell lot of time to Shutdown when compared to 2000
Professional. Is there any settings, which makes it slower? Can I make it
shut down quicker?

thanks for any help.

LFR>>>> You need to fin what process is taking a lot of time to close but if
you want to try to modify the regedit here is a tip:

start - run - regedit - enter
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\control panel\Desktop] al hacer el click en el folder
named desktop in the right side of the screen look for WaitToKillAppTim....
here you do a doble click an change the value to 4000 , now OK

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control] do the same, change the
value of the WaitToKillService...to 4000, OK

restart computer

<<<<WARNING>>>> Modifiying the regedit incorrectly may produce damage the
OS ...That is good idea to do a restoration point before working with regedit

I tried all the option listed in above link. But still XP shutdown takes
nearly 2 min. Is there a possibility of logging of all actions while
shutting down? I tried with startup with "/bootlog" switch. But I couldn't
find the log anywhere? What is the default location of bootlog?

thanks for any help.

Any help? Please.... I am getting pissed off, I don't know what is the
problem? There are no special event log entries. However I keep seeing
message "Could not save for user xxxx, registry is still in use" with every
shutdown?. Is it a problem? What can be reason for this?

Look in the Event Viewer Log and see if anything is recorded when you
logoff.
