XP shutdown message appears when logging onto Web

I am running Window XP on a HP laptop.
When I log onto the Web. After about a minute I get an
error message saying that my system will shutdown within
60secs.

It states that the shutdown was initiated by the NT
AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.

It also states that Windows must restart because the RPC
service terminated unexpectedly.

This all appears in a small Window in the centre of the
screen.

any ideas

goto control panel, adim tools, component services. click
on services(local), find Remote Procedure Call (Rpc)(Not
the locater because there are 2) Left click it and goto
properties ...

Click on the recovery tab ... and then in the three
pulldown menus select "Take no action"

That should sort your problem ... If not try the rpc
locator ... That should do the trick :) ...Its sorted mine
a treat
