XP Shutdown freeze

Ron

Have a new Toshiba A20 P4 2.66 laptop running XP Home.

Upon shutdown message appears saying

Windows is logging off and saving settings.

Then says Windows is shutting down but it freezes at this
point.

Must hit power button to shutdown manually. Upon restart
everything loads ok with no error message.

Any help appreciated, computer only 2 weeks old.

Nope, no luck. When trying the work around fix computer
freezes on the BlueScreenOfDeath.

SP 1 was installed.

Hi, Ron.

Obvious question: What Stop Code shows on the BSOD?

Second obvious question, since the computer is only two weeks old: What
does Toshiba say?

I disconnected a Brother MFC9600, uninstalled the software
and problem went away.

Unfortunately Brother does not have a new driver and I
must use the one included with XP Home. I am waiting for a
response from Brother.

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE

Ron
