XP Sharing: CAn see one shared folder but not another. ???

Hi and thanks for taking a look. Have visited before and i think this
is simple.

Windows XP home on laptop and desktop.
Can see and sharefrom desktop from abc folder in Shared docs on
laptop.
Have also shared xyz on laptop but can't see it from the desktop.
Pretty sure i used to be able to but why not now? Weird. So i copy
everything to the one folder and then recopy on the other machine
which i know i didn't do before.

What am i doing wrong?

OK, More info:
I did a browse from a file attachment window and it found that folder
in shared docs.

In the desktop if i go to my network places it doesn't show all the
shared folders, just some. ???

So now the one i just made shows up but others don't and i know they
used to. I moved and disconnected my router. Do I need to refresh this
list or something?

My impression here is that My Network Places should show:
This_folder_SHAREname on desktop_computer_name(workgrpoup)
Shouldn't they all show?
