XP setup problem

I have a new XP upgrad CD and it works fine untill it restarts the 2nd time,
but then the time left is gone. At this point it appears to be still working
but when it restarts again all I get is the XP screen with the blue line
light for a short time before it restarts repeatly with the same results.

Has this happen to any one and if so did you finaly get it to work?

Remove whatever hardware the system does not need to install XP. After it is
setup you can attach the extra stuff again, and install it. Some device
probably is using a bad driver.

Ok what do you mean by hardwear? Would it be like a sound card or a modem etc?

Exactly, something you don't need for the install.

I tried taken out any hardwear I could find but it still does not work.

Any other ideas?
