I'm trying to install Windows XP on a system I'm building
with a P4 processor, ASUS motherboard (P4S800D-E) and 2
Western Digital serial ATA hard drives. Windows setup
doesn't recognize the serial drives and asks for a floppy
disc with drivers for the serial ATA controller. I have
only a CD-ROM that came with the motherboard. Can anyone
help? THANKS!!

Go to a friends house and use his computer to copy the SATA drivers to a floppy
you do have friends??

If the Asus people had their act together they would have provided a floppy
with the SATA drivers. Did you check the Asus website to see if updated
drivers were available?

Hello,

In my experience, ASUS has exceptional documentation (The Manual). It
comes with the board and it explains how to use the CD to make the
floppy you desire.....Read it.
