Later this year is the only public "date" we can give at this time.
SP2 is a quality driven release and as such will be made available after all
the feedback from the Beta testing programs concludes that it is ready.
Please continue to use Windows Update to ensure your PC is up to date with
all patches and fixes.

Actually we have published the timelines for SP releases at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycle/servicepacks.mspx
