XP Service Pack 2

I had to remove Service Pack 2 after I had installed it
recently. It caused a lot of problems. My printer would
not longer operate properly. After I removed Service Pack
2, the problems disappeared. Bugs need to be cleared up
before I will tolerate Service Pack 2 on my compter. Has
anyone else experienced problems with Service Pack 2 for
XP? Please let me know. (e-mail address removed)

What other problems you were facing? Did you check the website of your
printer manufacturer for latest drivers or compatibilty with XP Sp2?

Hundred of people are having these problems. That's
why you were advised to make good back-ups. Did you?

People on other usenet groups are reporting that SP2 causes their
printer to jam.

And when challenged, they are not backing down.

You know, half of the flu vaccine made in England may have to be
discarded because it's contaminated.

It's all because of SP2.

Some people are complaining that SP2 blocks their applications.

I'll be that these same people have a similar problem with their car,
when the door is locked, they can't get in.

Did you try looking for updated printer drivers? Of course not. Did you
install SP2 with your printer connected (which the installation notes say
not to do)...Of course you did.

It was not a SP2 problem. You did not follow installation instructions, and
you did not try to determine if a simple driver update would fix it.

Go back to using a calculator.

That the first I heard of disconnecting printer before installing xp
sp2. I keep my stuff connected stuff and it still works.

same problem with the printer
went to the manufacturer site Epson and download and install an update

After that everything works fine.

I also left my printer connected, because I always make sure I have the
latest drivers installed. The installation notes (part of the MS KB
article) says that disconnecting external devices is advised during the
installation. Since the SP is practically a new OS in and of itself, this
would tend to make sense. As I said, I left mine attached, but was already
certain that the driver for the printer was SP2 compatible.
