xp service pack 2 problem

I installed sp2, then tried to restart my computer. It would hang and
restart whenever the windows xp splash screen showed. I uninstalled sp2 in
safe mode and my computer seems to be fine. any help on this would be great
since I need sp2.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come along and help, but the very
same thing happened to me in upgrading to SP2.
I had followed all the good advice, but had the 'crash and restart'
syndrome. When I disconnected my A4Tech mouse and replaced it with a
different mouse, WIN XP loaded and ran just fine. I tried to get guidance
from Mouse manufacturer, but am still waiting several months later.

Have you checked both the MS site and your computer manufacturer's
site for any updates that may need to be made to your computer BEFORE
installing SP2?

When I ran the test on mine it needed drivers as well as a bios flash.
