I installed sp1 from a cd. the temp folder it created
will not delete. it is 103mb. I tried the "take
ownership of a folder. I use my pc at home. there is no
network involved. thanks

Right click on the folder and check the attributes. If the
folder is Read-only, then uncheck. Might need to uncheck the
Read-only attributes for all of the files in the folder. It
should be able to delete the folder after making this change.
 
Also try to use the Disk Cleanup for that drive. Look at the other options
tab also.
