Check this out-
We've got a relatively small network at my office, about
20 PCs running XP. We don't have any centralized servers
that run Microsoft software. Each user is given their
own administrator password, and we don't keep track of
their passwords centrally, because our employees aren't
morons and are mostly tech-savvy.
I want a way to be able to scan an IP range on our
network to determine if anyone is falling behind on
installing security updates. For example, it'd be nice
if there was a tool out there that would tell me who
still hasn't installed SP1, etc.
Now before you recommend MS' Baseline Security Analyzer,
I've tried it already. It is basically useless for a
scenario like mine where you don't have administrator
access on the machines that you're scanning.
Can anyone recommend a tool that will do what I'm looking
to do? Pretty please? Thanks!
