XP search looks like win2k search. What happened?

My XP search dialog (Start|search) looks like the one in Windows 2000. What
changed to cause this? There is no "preferences" tab to change it, so how
did it get that way?

I installed Powertoys but I can't find it anywhere, Didn't it used to show
up in control panel? It's in add/remove programs but where is the exe? I
even removed it and re-installed. I can't find it.

This can be done via manually editing the Registry, or using TweakUI for
Windows XP.

TweakUI is available from

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp (SP1 and
later systems)

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/downloads/powertoys.asp (Pre SP1
systems)

This setting is found in the Explorer main section, toward the very bottom.

That's where it installs by default, now. You can add it to Control Panel with a small VB Script file that's available from www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Line 1, left column. It will add the necessary Registry entries to make it show up as a Control Panel item.

I used the tweak on this machine and it doesn't change the view.
There is something spooky going on here.
