I'd like Automatic search in Windows XP SP2 to work - how?

In Windows XP SP2 I have set the automatic search in Microsoft Internet
Explorer
6 this way. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer | Search | Change preferences
| Change Internet search behavior | Select the default search engine |
Google | OK.

I expect that is the way to Change [the] Internet search behavior. So I
type Troll in the address bar and hit <ENTER>. I arrive at the
search.msn.com search engine.

How do I fix this?

You reply had nothing to do with the Windows XP GUI. I'll look again or
ask. Thanks.
