XP 'search' keeps crashing - why?

Hi

This problem has been going on for sometime.

I have SP2.

Norton Utilities can't fix it.

Everytime I use XP Search - and I search on *.jpg
the results come back as 9600 results, the window
shows some results and then crashes.

It happens in whatever view I have i.e. 'thumbnails' or 'details'.

Any ideas?
