XP Screensavers

Dr. Bob

How does one properly install a screensaver on Windows XP
(PRO)? I have a SCR file which I've copied to the
C:\windows\system32 folder. I even right-clicked the file
and chose Install. This new screensaver does not appear
in the list of screensavers in Display properties. It
will run if the .scr file is double-clicked. Any ideas?

Hi Bob,

Suggestions/Checkpoints:

Check your setting for the screensavers path.

Here are some examples:

Marine Aquarium 2.scr > rename it to > MarineAquarium2.scr

In the registry, screensaver will work correctly if it is listed as so:
c:\windows\system32\marine~1.scr

Screen Savers do not work correctly if listed as so:
""c:\windows\system32\marine aquarium 2.scr""
