xp screensaver and wallpaper error

I am receiving an error when ever I go to change the
display settings for my wallpaper and screensaver. It
reads:

run a DLL as an APP has encountered a problem and needs
to close.

Anyone with any info on this, please?

I have solved this problem. it was caused by spyware

and was removed with spybot.
