XP Running slow with Pentium 2

I have a pentium 2 processor and when I installed XP I
noticed a dramatic change in the speed. I have cable
connection and it still runs very slow. I also have the
McAfee Security center running. Does this program slow
down the proformance of XP? I also had additional memory
intalled & harddrive when XP was installed. Still no
difference in proformance.

I'm running Pentium ll with 384 MB and upgraded from Windows 98 to XP also
have MacAfee Security Center. Now using DSL. No problems here. Sorry I can't
offer help.
