AIDA32 is no longer supported. Uninstall it and
download Everest Home Edition v1.51.

I too have the OEM version of XP, yet Everest says it is Retail. Windows
makes no distinction wherever I look up the version info, so I guess OEM
status is not readable off the disk, but only comes from the key.

Well surprise. The OEM status is in the Product ID, which is found under
Operating System in Everest.

I can't tell you why. I don't know much about Everest.

I'm not sure what you mean by "not readable off the disk," but
there *is* a difference between OEM CDs and retail ones. OEM CDs
can't do upgrades, and that restriction has to be on the CD
somewhere.

OEM versions are NOT elgible for support frm Microsoft. You have to go back
to the vendor where you bought the OEM CD from. Don't know what you mean by
upgrades but you can certainly install maintenance on OEM systems from
Microsoft's web site.
