xp restore failure

I did a system restore and when it rebooted it went to a black screen with
only the cursor showing. The cursor will move with the movement of the
mouse. When I go into safe mode, the screen is still black with the cursor
but the words safe mode are in all four corners.

It is a problem of your display card driver.
Safe mode is normal to be like that.

Hi

Reboot your PC and try 'Last Known Good Configuration' - that option is on
the same screen as Safe Mode.
