XP restarts when transferring large amounts of data from a CD driv

I have just upgraded from ME to XP Pro.
I tried to re-install my virus software because XP told me I needed to but
the system kept resetting before the files had loaded from the CD.
It turns out it wasn't the virus software but any large transfer of data
from CD to hard disk (HD to HD is okay) causes the reset.
Anyone got any ideas ?
 
Is your file system FAT32 or NTFS? If the former, try converting to NTFS.

From a command prompt:

convert C: fs/ntfs (Where C is the disk you want to convert.)
