XP Repair loops

I needed to do a repair. i went ahead and booted from the CD and began the
repair but my laptops battery went dead in the middle of it. when I began to
do it again it would almost totally be done with a minute left of installing
and it would re-boot and start the repair all over again. So it just keeps
looping. I don't know what to do. I don't really want to do a complete
reinstall. Is there a way to get past the looping?

boot to cd, and recovery console. Run the command CHKDSK /R , then try the
Repair again.

I tried that and no such luck. Did the same thing. I thought it was going to
work because it said there was a error on the volume but didn't work. Any
other ideas?
