XP Repair Install

I did an XP repair install and my computer hangs and freezes just as my
desktop is loading my settings. I can move the mouse freely and even bring up
the task manager but it will not load my desktop completely. I even have the
same problem if I try to start in safe mode.

Any ideas?

my guess is that you had the problem before the "repair" as well.

Is this instance of hanging occurring as the setup is finalizing or did was
the setup completed succesfully and were you able to do a successful product
activation?

It either sounds like you might have a genuine problem.

Perhaps, trying disconnecting all your cables from the back of the pc except
monitor mouse and keyboard.... see what happens
