No, but you can use it to upgrade the Home version. You will need to use the
Pro Product Key, and for it to be in compliance with the EULA agreement the
Pro Product Key must not be installed on another computer. This is
essentially give the same results as a repair install.
The XP Home version upgraded with the pro XP will/may also be tied to the
Pro Upgrade and cannot be used on another computer to be in compliance with
the EULA agreement. If any of the situations where you have purchased or
feel like you meet a fair rights use of the XP license prompts a phone call
activation, give only the information that a hardware upgrade was made on
the same computer XP was originally installed on. OEM versions have more
restrictive licensing because of the substantially reduced pricing and
cannot be moved to what would be essentially defined as a new system. The
hardware component that was part of the XP OEM purchase has no defining
status in the determination of transferring the OEM license to new
hardware. Microsoft OEM Builders use the Mother Board as the defining
hardware component that determines a new system. But the part I find
interesting is when you purchase the OEM XP OS with qualifying hardware, and
you build your system, then you are now the OEM and can then decide what is
allowed to change
I feel like OEM software dies when it no longer has any ties to the original
systemic it was installed to and cannot be installed on more than one
computer in any configuration .
