Hi,

I recently had xp home reinstalled on my p4/1.7, however I cannot seem to
'sent link/page via email from IE (it appears correctly set up in
'tools/options/programs'), nor can I send a file from windows explorer, to
another directory/drive or media (floppy/cd/dvd).

Any advise would be greatly appreciated, as the PC expert who did it, cannot
source an answer for me.

See if this command helps:

regsvr32 sendmail.dll
[ Type in Start, Run ]

Thanks Ramesh,
I did as you suggest and received the message 'dllregisterserver in
sendmail.dll suceeded', however it did not solve the problem.
I continue to get the message 'either there is no default mail client or the
current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. PLease run Microsoft
outlook and set it as the default mail client' (in IE), and files still
cannot be transfered to other drives in Win explorer....
(by the way I use Outlook express).

Look forward to (your) further advices

regards

Hi Lethal,

Posting the error message earlier would have helped.

T set OE as the default mail client, run these two commands:

"%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\MSIMN.EXE" /REG
regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msoe.dll"

Then, choose Outlook Express as the default email client in Internet Options
(Programs tab).

Hi Ramesh,

THANK YOU...it appears what you suggest HAS fixed the IE issue....it was
proving such a bugbear.
I am unaware as to how to 'post messages' being a fair novice at this
microsoft help newsgroup thing...my apologies.
The two commands were run (however only the second got a response 'suceeded
'type message...I assume this is what was expected?)

I am also running the 'iefix' from your site; I thought this may have been
implied?
Hopefully that will cure the bug you have assisted with and fix another
issue (not previously mentioned)...being long delays in ie of non-responsive
time when my list of favs is selected.

thanks again...and your comments are always welcome

Lethal,

Glad the issue is now fixed. Note that the first command runs silently, and
does not display any confirmation message. BTW the commands are not included
in IEFIX utility.
