XP reactivation

I have reviewed the various posts about reactivation but I can't get into
safe mode. I have a Dell Inspirion with ZP Home SP2 with all updates. I
think my problem was when I ran Disk Cleanup and cheked all the boxes. It
now asks for reactivation. MS tells me to call Dell who says to refomat.
PLEASE - there must be a better way! Please help!

Most Dell systems that came preloaded with Windows XP should be
self-activating as Dell uses the SLP (BIOS Locked) procedure with
their OEM versions and have done so for quite some time.

What is your exact Inspiron model number?

Try repairing the registry entries for the .DLL files used by
Activation:
Use Start- Run and enter the following text in the dialog box:
regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll

Then do it again with the following text:
regsvr32.exe licdll.dll

Also try using System Restore to set the computer back to the most
recent restore point that is prior to your running Disk Cleanup.

Good luck
