There is no offense meant by this - I am presenting you with 'as I see
it'...
If you cannot download and burn a ISO image to CD in order to install
WIndows XP x64 - then I wouldn't recommend doing it.
Windows XP x64 requires a 64-bit capable PC and the drivers for your
exisiting hardware may not even exist (have you checked each hardware
component? Motherboard chipset, video card, network card, sound card,
printer, scanner, dial-up modem, TV capture card, camera, etc and so on?)
and you may end up having to do a lot of troublesooting just to get things
working (your programs may not work properly (BTW - there is no upgrade - it
is wipe and install anew - everything.)
Downloading an ISO is saving a file.
Burning an ISO is using a program on your computer to burn a CD image to an
actual CD using the CD writer you have in your system.
ISORecorder Powertoy comes to mind as an easy one-purpose freebie (use
google.) that does what you need to do in-as-far as making a CD.
Downloading the ISO - that should be a click and save think - like any other
legitimate download you would do.
