On what website you are trying to download this?.
It may be the limit applied by your ISP MUT limitation?.
Didn't they offer a CD to order on that website if it is MS?.

the website was "microsoft.com" I didn't think about the ISP MUT limit..yeah,
they did offer a CD, but, I can't wait the 4 to 6 weeks for delivery, cuz, I
built my mom a PC for christmas and today is the day, and here I am without
an OS. I really appreciate your taking the time to help me out, especially

Hi Mouse and Merry christmas to you and we hope to get this in time.
Try to Clear your caches, delete Internet Files and Cookies.
Then try this :
Open a Run command and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK] and Reboot and try the Download.
if still no joy try this, On IE properties click on Security Tab and thn
click on Custom level.
On Security Settings scroll down to this Option:
[&] File Download
(*) Enable be sure this option is checked
( )

Click On Programs Tab and click on Reset Web Settings button.
Have a pick on manage Sdd-Ons and Try to disable sme odd Add-ons and Click
[OK] and Reboot your machien and try the download, try to download into a
folder on your Desktop insrtead of CD it will be quicker.
If still try this, open a Run Command and type in:
sfc /scannow click [OK] and wait for it to finish, get your CD handy you
may need to insert it in if you prompted by the OS to do so.
HTH and good luck.
Best wishes to all with merry christmas and happy new year.
Regards,
nass

So you built a computer without an OS and now you are in desparate need
of an OS, any OS, so mom can do something with the computer but only for
a limited time afterwhich she gets screwed over with having to buy an OS
and probably losing setup and maybe data at that time (since apparently
you are the OS expert in your family). Go put on a copy of Ubuntu,
Fedora, SuSE, Solaris, or some other UNIX flavor if you want something
for her to look at for awhile until you or her dole out more money for
Microsoft's solution.

Not very specific for a URL. I went to:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/facts/trial.mspx

and tried downloading the trial. Got "page not found". Could be their
server is down, too busy with holiday traffic, or that page got changed
and the new one didn't get put in place. With the Xmas holidays, could
be that site won't be up until after mom sees that she got an incomplete
system. Guess you'll have to give mom just the hardware you put
together or put on some other OS in the meantime. After all, even if
you put the trial on her new computer, it's a trial version and she will
still end up having to buy the real thing.

Thanks vanguard, but this Funy, when I put my Country I got the Server busy
and when I don't put any country I can go but it need the Billing Info, how
odd?.
Nope I tried it again while I'm wrtting this message it did work with my
country name, may be as you said the server was busy.
I hope Mouse will try it now and sort out this, not nice when you have
unworkable machine, just barebone.

It doesn't have to be the X64 version. The 32 bit will do justs as well,
with the advantage that you don't have to go searching for non-existent
64 bit versions of programs.

Cheers,

Cliff

Oh, come on. Just whose fault is it that the hardware is unusable? It
certainly isn't Microsoft's fault that their web site cannot proffer a
free TRIAL version of their software because the OP couldn't be bothered
to include an OS in the build of his mom's computer.
